Level I: Climbing Foundations Program

If you have interest in joining a community for mountain travelers who are seeking to take their skillset to the next level, you are in the right place.

At a very competitive price, participants will get education from the only AMGA certified guides in Portland.

This will be an 8 week series, those that wish to graduate from the program will expect to dedicate significant time to their development. This program will start in March 2026 with two cohorts running concurrently. Weekly classroom sessions will bring all of the participants together and tighten our community.

Each cohort will comprise up to 12 students, making 24 spots available for 2026.

The series will comprise of 4 field sessions, weekly classroom sessions (in person), access to online learning videos, forum membership to ask us and other members questions.

Field sessions will be held at Mount Hood and Smith Rock.

Classroom Sessions - All Cohorts - Friday Evenings: 3/13, 3/27, 4/10, 4/24

Field Sessions - Cohort A - Saturdays: 3/14, 3/28, 4/11, 4/25

Field Sessions - Cohort B - Sundays: 3/15, 3/29, 4/12, 4/26

Participants who graduate from this program would be well prepared to step into the Level II: Intermediate Rock and Alpine Courses, which can be taken separately or concurrently.
