Smith Rock State Park, the volcanic climber’s paradise in central Oregon, boasts more than 1,800 sport and traditional climbing routes. If you're feeling extra adventurous, don't miss the opportunity to climb the Monkey Face, a 350-foot free-standing pillar.

If you're in the Portland metro area and prefer to stay closer to home, Beacon Rock is an excellent option and is often referred to as Portland’s best rock climbing, even though it’s in Washington! Beacon Rock is a unique basalt monolith with an impressive number of high-quality multi-pitch sport and trad climbing routes.

Additionally, Broughton Bluff is also a great option. This basalt column climbing venue offers a plethora of single-pitch sport and traditional climbing routes to choose from and is a perfect location for skill courses.
