Where We Climb
Broughton Bluff an excellent venue that is just 20 minutes east of Portland along the Sandy River in Troutdale. This basalt crag offers a great mix of sport and traditional climbing for all abilities. It’s the perfect place to work on solid footwork, crack climbing technique, and powerful movement on steep terrain.
Beacon Rock State Park is an exceptional venue for those looking for more challenging crack climbing. As a testament to its quality, Portlanders endearingly joke that it is the best climbing in Oregon. Towering over the Columbia River Gorge, this historic monolith features stunning trad routes and adventure climbing on high-quality volcanic rock.
Ozone offers quick access to quality basalt climbing with a mix of trad and sport routes. Known for its vertical cracks and technical faces, it’s a local favorite for after-work sessions and skill progression. Shady trees and short approaches make Ozone an inviting year-round crag.
French’s Dome is a striking basalt plug tucked in the forest near Mt. Hood. With a solid concentration of moderate and hard sport routes, it is an excellent spot for building endurance on pitches up to 100 feet. A true Portland-area gem.
Smith Rock State Park is a world-renowned rock climbing destination offering everything from beginner-friendly routes to advanced test pieces. With its incredible volcanic tuff and basalt crags, Smith Rock is ideal for those interested in face and crack climbing. The views aren’t too bad either!
